Canada Shooting: Soldier Killed In Ottawa, As City Is Shut
An unidentified gunman killed a soldier at a war
memorial in the Canadian capital of Ottawa, then stormed the parliament
building where he engaged the local policemen in a gun fight.
The attack came as ‘surprise’ for the security services, and the local authorities have admitted of being unprepared for such a development.
The attacker is reportedly dead, but the police is on red alert, as
shootings have been reported in total of three locations in the city.
This may mean that the suspect has not been acting alone.
Police believe that the hit-and-run attack might have been made by a Muslim convert (or converts), who chose such a method to protest Canada’s decision to join the US-led campaign of air strikes against Islamic State (IS) militants in Iraq.
