Christian mother in Pakistan sentenced to death for blasphemy
Asia Bibi, 50, a mother-of-five, was handed her sentence after an argument over water led to her making an allegedly derogatory remark about the Prophet Muhammad.
Asia Bibi, 50, got angry after farm laborer colleagues spurned her offer to fetch water, saying it would be "unclean" to accept water from a non-Muslim, the Huffington Post UK reported.
This started an argument, which ended up with her colleagues reporting to a local cleric.
Bibi was given the choice of converting to Islam or being reported to police.
She refused to convert and was subsequently arrested by officers.
The incident happened in 2009 but it was only this week that she finally lost her appeal against her sentence.
Her lawyer, Sardar Mushtaq, said he would pursue a further appeal and "we will try our best to save her life."
